| Q: |
Does the Fiberay's GBIC or SFP transceiver support intercommunication of two transceivers with different wavelengths? |
| A: |
Fiberay's GBIC and SFP transceivers support three different wavelengths: 850nm, 1310nm and 1550nm.
The 850nm module must be connected with the 850nm module.
A 1310nm module can be connected with a 1550nm module, but the user must pay careful attention not to overload power of receiver. When the incoming optical power of receiver exceeds the overload value, a attenuator should be utilized.
When the same wavelength modules (1310nm or 1550nm) connect with each other, the input optical power range of the receiver should also be considered. (Example: FTM-5012C-L80/FTM-5112C-L120 connects with FTM-5012C-L80/FTM-5112C-L120, please refer to the figure below) |
